Several months after Oliver’s death, Lara meets Chris (Milby), a young man also suffering from the loss of his spouse. They initially strike a bond without the intention of getting close. Their cordial acquaintance grew to friendship and thus has helped each other move on.Later, they experience attraction for each other. Can these two broken people find love again? The box office returns of Star Cinema and Viva Entertainment’s co-production, the Sam Milby and Anne Curtis feature “Babe I Love You” grossed a measly and below average cume of P16.5 million on its first week of showing. Comparing to the two previous movies produced and released by Star Cinema for 2010 — Paano Na Kaya? starring Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, and Miss You Like Crazy starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo — the results of Babe I Love You is weak. Blame it on Clash of the Titans, we guessed, because the Sam Worthington Greek epic movie pitting gods and demigods earned a whopping P47.3 million over the same weekend.
The John Lloyd-Bea starrer “Miss You Like Crazy” has already grossed P140.1 million on its 5th week. “Babe, I Love You” clashed with Hollywood biggies.
For the weekend March 24-28, 2010, Box Office Mojo reported that Dreamworks’ critically-acclaimed animated film “How to Train You Dragon” soared on its second week beating erstwhile leader “Alice in Wonderland.” The live-action Disney adaptation helmed by Tim Burton ruled Philippine box office for 3 weeks. It already earned P128.69 million in 4 weeks. On the other hand, the “Dragon” movie raked-in P27.9 million in 2 weeks.
The top-grossing film of 2010, so far (with the exception of Avatar which opened December last year), is Star Cinema’s “Miss You Like Crazy” grossing P140.1 million in 5 weeks. Running in second is Alice in Wonderland with P128.69 million followed by Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief with P91.25 million.
Yesterday (Black Saturday), Star Cinema’s 3rd offering for 2010–Babe, I Love You–opened in theaters nationwide. It received a grade of “B” from the Cinema Evaluation Board (B) thereby earning a 65% off the amusement tax. It will surely help the film since it went head to head with the anticipated Hollywood epic “Clash of the Titans” which also opened yesterday dominating the number of cinemas across the country.
Can Sam Milby and Anne Curtis‘ “Babe, I Love You” subsist with the challenge? Can it even surpass the gross of Kimerald’s Paano Na Kaya?
Check out the teaser for the third Star Cinema movie of the year coming out in theaters in April. The movie titled “Babe I Love You” features the loveteam and “on-again, off-again” relationship of Sam Milby and Anne Curtis.

The Star Cinema romantic movie “And I Love You So” has grossed P36.3M in Mega Manila’s non-SM cinemas in the period of 2 weeks.
In the weekend screening of August 19 to 23, the Bea Alonzo starrer raked in P10.58 million to place third over-all beating the debut weekend of another Pinoy film Love on Line starring Vic Sotto.
Love on Line (LOL), on the other hand, debuted in 4th place with a Mega Manila box office gross of P10.16 million.
Leading the Philippine box office on the same period was Disney Pixar’s “Up”, which garnered a whopping P46.37 million in Mega Manila alone.
At no. 2 is the 3rd week screening of G.I. Joe with a box-office haul of P21.9 million. The action film’s 3-weeks gross is now a remarkable P140,916,591.70 in Mega Manila theaters alone.
Aliens in the Attic debuted in 5th place with P5.41 million while The Time Traveler’s Wife debuted in 6th place with P5.19 million.

Star Cinema’s latest offering “And I Love You So” starring Bea Alonzo, Derek Ramsay and Sam Milby is now showing in all theaters nationwide EXCEPT SM Cinemas.
The Laurenti Dyogi romantic drama had a very successful premiere night at the Trinoma Mall Cinema in Quezon City last night, August 11, 2009.
In the past, SM Megamall Cinemas (particularly Cinema 9 and 10) were the venue for all Star Cinema movie premiere nights. But why Trinoma Cinema this time?
SM Megamall Cinema 10 was supposedly the venue for the movie’s premiere night as announced by Star Cinema through its multiply site but the site’s content says otherwise (see Google search result below).
Watch the report of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino Tuesday night on Showbiz News Ngayon making it very clear that And I Love You So is opening today in more than 100 theaters nationwide EXCEPT SM Cinemas. They announced the list of theaters where the public can watch the movie and not even 1 SM cinema was mentioned.
The two hosts did not make any comment regarding the matter. When Boy Abunda mentioned “…EXCEPT SM Cinemas”, Kris Aquino could only mutter “Oh, Oh.”
SM Supermall is an avid sponsor of various GMA shows. Their condominium is being endorsed by Darna star Marian Rivera. Is the network war behind this matter?
Star Cinema, on the other hand, said they will release an official statement regarding this matter any time from now.

The showing of Sam Milby’s indie film “Cul de Sac“, which is originally scheduled to open on November 18, has been moved to December 3, this year.
The movie is produced by Cinemabuhay for PLDT-Smart Foundation. Sam is joined by Chin-Chin Gutierrez, Jodi Sta. Maria and Albert Martinez and directed by Juan Miguel Sevilla.
Sam’s character is a ‘bad boy’ in this suspense-thriller movie about people working in the call center industry and viewers are given this fair warning: “What you see is not always what you get“.
Halatang pagod pa si Sam Milby nang pinapasok sa standby area ng mga press for the set visit of the new Cinemabuhay grant movie of new and young filmmaker Juan Miguel Sevilla, ang Cul-de-sac. Katatapos niya pa lang mag-location taping for his ABS-CBN primetime series Dyosa at dumiretso agad siya sa shoot ng nasabing suspense movie co-starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Chin-Chin Gutierrez.
Kapansin-pansin din ang "sugat" niya sa labi at sa pisngi, so PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked him kung totoo ito o kung prosthetics niya ito from Dyosa.
"He did this to me!" joke muna ni Sam habang itinuturo ang napakabatang direktor nilang si Juan Miguel bago niya sabihing prosthetics pala ito sa movie.
"I know, but how can I complain, it's a job?" sabi niya na lang.
Cul-de-sac is Sam's first independent movie, his first suspense movie, and his first movie outside Star Cinema. An exclusive star of the film arm of his Kapamilya station, mildly surprised kami na napayagan siyang tanggapin ang pelikula lalo na't wala palang clause ang kanyang Star Cinema contract for any outside movie.
"Gusto ko talagang gawin ang movie," sabi ni Sam. "When I first read the script, I was at the edge of my seat while reading it and I finished it in one seating. I love my character here so I asked my bosses if I can do this one."
Mahigit isang buwan daw silang naghintay ng kanyang manager na si Erik Raymundo bago siya napayagang tanggapin ang pelikula. For Cul-de-sac, kahit hindi niya pa nakatrabaho ang director na inilagay ang pangalan niya as part of the director's wish list of actors, tinanggap pa rin ni Sam ang pelikula and even in his below the usual talent fee.
"The script is that good, I want to do this talaga," sambit ni Sam.
Hindi na rin nagreklamo si Sam na kahit kaaalis pa lang ng kanyang prosthetics sa Dyosa ay lalagyan na naman siya for Cul-de-sac.
Nakiisa rin si Sam sa mga producers of the movie headed by Albert Martinez not to divulge his character for Cul-de-sac.
"I'm a mysterious guy here," ang sabi niya.
Basta hindi raw siya bida, hindi siya kontrabida. Top billing siya over Jodi and Chin-Chin at wala silang love interest ni Jodi, and that his character's job is a call center agent.
Star Cinema is once again capitalizing on the tandem of Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga in their newest Valentine offering - My Big Love. The Sam-Toni was quite successful in You Are The One, which raked in some box-office moolah. And now, that chemistry is bound to become successful as the film utilizes the charm and acting prowess of the two young stars to create another romantic flick. Throw in veteran Kristine Hermosa into the mix, and this sure is going to be a big hit.
You are the one is a story of NSO employee Sally Malasmas (Toni Gonzaga), who applies for a US Visa and gets denied. What is unusual, however, is that she gets the chance to meet again the dashing and handsome vice-consul, Will Derby (Sam Milby), who denied her visa, and gets even with him. This, obviously, gets her into trouble and brings these two opposing characters to a hilarious yet poignant journey that leads to love and romance. The movie explores the insanities that comes with love, the impossibilities to be hurdled to make love happen and the self-confidence we all need to make love work.
