Box-Office Update: Tween Academy – P32.23-M, Way Back Home – P25.78-M

“Tween Academy: Class of 2012″ beats “Way Back Home” at the box office.

The cast of “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” and “Way Back Home,” (at least most of them), are rivals on television in a sense that their weekly shows, “Tween Hearts” and “Good Vibes/Growing Up” are airing on the same timeslot every Sunday afternoon.

And now that they are promoted to the big screen, they are still being pitted with regards to box-office grosses of their films.

In the latest report of Box Office Mojo, “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” has grossed P32.23 million in 3 weeks. “Way Back Home,” on the other hand, only lasted for two weeks in theaters with a total gross of P25.78 million.

Even if we are to base the competition in the first two weeks tally for each movie, “Tween Academy” still wins by virtue of its P29.88 million box-office gross.

Meanwhile, the Star Cinema comedy movie “Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi” starring Toni Gonzaga and Eugene Domingo now has a box-office gross of P30.48 million.

The indie film “Zombadings,” on the other hand, has now raked-in P19.05 million in two weeks.
