‘Petrang Kabayo’ Movie Trailer Released

Viva Films has released the full trailer of their upcoming comedy movie “Petrang Kabayo” starring Vice Ganda.

“Petrang Kabayo”, a remake of the 1988 film of the same title with Roderick Paulate in the title role, is the launching movie of Vice Ganda (Goldwin Trinidad in real life) after doing support roles in past films such as “Apat Dapat,” “Condo”, “Noy”, “In My Life” and “Hating Kapatid”.

Also starring in Petrang Kabayo (2010) are Sam Pinto, Candy Pangilinan, DJ Durano, John Arcilla, Makisig Morales, Ricky Rivero, Joy Vidao, Eagle Riggs, Ms. Gloria Diaz and leading men Tom Rodriguez and Luis Manzano with the special participation of Eugene Domingo.

Directed by Wenn V. Deramas, Petrang Kabayo opens in theaters nationwide this September.

‘In Your Eyes’ Earns P33.5M in 1st Five Days

The Viva Films and GMA Films romantic drama “In Your Eyes” raked in P33.5 million on its opening weekend.

Based on the box office report of Box Office Mojo for the period of August 18-22, 2010, “In Your Eyes” is the no. 1 film in the country last weekend by virtue of its opening gross of P33.5 million. The film stars Anne Curtis, Richard Gutierrez and Claudine Barretto.

Sylvester Stallone‘s The Expendables settled at no. 2 with P16.9 million while Cats and Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore debuted at no. 3 with P12.69 million.

John Lapuz may solo movie na!

After 17 years of his showbiz career, magkakaroon na rin ng solo movie si John “Sweet” Lapuz.

Thanks to Mother Lily Monteverde, bibigyan siya ng starring role sa isang comedy film na may tentative title na “Kumander Gringa.”

Si Chris Martinez ang napisil na maging direktor ng nasabing pelikula. Si Chris ang direktor ng Cinemalaya-winning film na “100″ na pinagbidahan nina Mylene Dizon at Eugene Domingo. Si Chris din ang direktor ng box-office hit movie na “Here Comes the Bride” na pinagbidahan din ni Eugene Domingo at nina Angelica Panganiban, John Lapuz at Tuesday Vargas.

Mapapanood si Sweet sa upcoming movie ng Regal na “Mamarazzi” na ipapalabas na sa mga sinehan ngayong Miyerkules.

‘Hating Kapatid’ Earns P81M in 4 Weeks

The Viva Films comedy movie, Hating Kapatid, raked-in an additional P2.14 million last weekend to earn a 4-weeks total of P81 million.

Last weekend, the action flick The Expendables took the no. 1 spot from Salt by taking in P22.16 million at the local box-office. The Angelina Jolie starrer amassed an additional P13.82 million last weekend to hike its total to P119.4 million.

Adam Sandler‘s “Grown Ups” debuted at no. 3 by its opening weekend gross of P8.39 million. In 4th place, on the other hand, is the dance flick Step Up 3-D.

‘Sa ‘Yo Lamang’ – Trailer Released

‘Hating Kapatid’ Hits P76.55M on its 3rd Week

The Viva Films comedy movie, Hating Kapatid, raked-in an additional P6.9 million last weekend to earn a 3-weeks total of P76.55 million.

It’s the 4th most-watched film in the Philippines last weekend period of August 4 to 8 trailing behind Hollywood biggies like Salt (#1), The Last Airbender (#2) and Inception (#3).

It bested 2 debuting movies last weekend like Tekken and Chloe.

In Your Eyes’ Opens on August 18

Viva Films and GMA Films ventured in the most anticipated romantic drama of the year.

“In Your Eyes” starring Claudine Baretto, Anne Curtis and Richard Gutierrez is set to relinquish a different love story which will show you the importance of relationship with your love ones, may it be a relative or a love counterpart. The premiere will be on August 18, 2010.

Here is the PLOT of the film:

The plot is set partly at the urban city of Los Angeles, California. The story revolves in an unexpected love triangle between Ciara (Claudine Baretto), Julia (Anne Curtis) and Storm (Richard Gutierrez). Ciara worked in the United States to sustain her younger sister’s need. She devoted much of her time working until such time when she was caught in trap by a storm. After 8 years in United States, she was reunited with her younger sister Julia. Storm, Julia’s boyfriend joined her in the United States. In desperation to get an immigrant status, Ciara, Julia and Storm made a deal. This deal put them into a more complicated situation. Know what deal it is?
