Gist: A married couple struggle to conceive a baby. They turn to excruciating religious rituals to overcome their plight and it paid off as the wife finally bears a child. On the day of the child’s birth, they found the baby dead. Feeling betrayed by God, the wife throws her faith and succumbed to the darkness inside her.
The Positive: Richard Somes does a superb job of establishing a nostalgic ambiance in “Corazon” as reflected in the movie’s lush visuals.
The Negative: The storytelling could have been more solid if only Somes had focused on strengthening the titular character.
