Three Witty Directors + One Box-Office Leading Man + Four Lovely Ladies = One Sure Valentine Hit

eugene domingo, jillian ward, lovi poe, My Valentine Girls, rhian ramos, richard gutierrez, solenn heusaff
On February 9, Valentine movie goers will marvel at the genius of three renowned directors who created the country’s next Valentine hit, My Valentine Girls.

Directors Dominic Zapata, Andoy Ranay and Chris Martinez will wow the audience with the cinematic executions of their episodes in Richard Gutierrez’s Valentine trilogy.

Having worked with both Richard and Rhian Ramos in Captain Barbell and Zorro, Direk Dom Zapata brings his expertise in directing the most innovative teleseryes and telefantasyas to the episode, “Soulmates”. Spectators will be amazed in his episode’s comedic, dramatic and thrilling elements with an unexpected twist toward the end.

The controversial director Andoy Ranay also gets his share of the flick in “BBFF”, an episode awaited by many for Richard and Solenn Heussaff’s long kissing scene. Although it is his first time to work with both Richard and Solenn, Direk Andoy guided the two to work in chemistry and managed Solenn capably in her first movie acting role. Lovi Poe portrayed the perfect third person in the love triangle, which will keep the audience guessing on who will win Richard’s heart in the end.

The challenges of the post-apocalyptic episode, “Gunaw”, fell on the hands of multi-awarded director Chris Martinez. Aside from writing the story and screenplay, Direk Chris also drew out the comedian in our Valentine Box-Office King side-by-side with one of the most favorite comediennes of our time, Eugene Domingo.

Adorable and cute child star Jillian Ward plays cupid as she plays Richard’s sidekick in My Valentine Girls. Her innocent wit and candid remarks provided a youthful glow in the duration of the movie. Even this little angel was captivated by Richard’s disarming charm which kept her all the more inspired in doing the film.

The wits of directors Dom Zapata, Andoy Ranay and Chris Martinez put together in this trilogy gives a new take on the usual Valentine movie-watching. The feel of each episode will definitely inspire couples and singles alike to let down their heavy baggage on relationships and just let love be love – light and simple.

My Valentine Girls of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment Inc. will be in theaters nationwide on February 9, with a premiere night on February 8 in SM Megamall Cinema 9.

gma films, jillian ward, My Valentine Girls, regal films, richard gutierrez
The official movie poster of the GMA Films and Regal Entertainment trilogy “My Valentine Girls” has been released.

The film stars the Valentines Box Office King Richard Gutierrez as a novelist searching for a girlfriend with Jillian Ward as his little sister who will have a cupid-like purpose in the movie.

The film has three romantic stories:

“Soulmates” tells of a relationship that started with a vehicular accident involving Richard and Rhian Ramos, a fashion stylist. Richard dies and appears to Rhian as a ghost to ask for help in going back to his family. Eventually, they get closer to each other but what else can happen to them if Richard is already a ghost?

Another story features Richard’s team-up with Survivor Philippines’ Solenn Heussaff in “BBFF”. Richard plays the role of a lawyer who decides to propose to his best friend Solenn. However, the latter prefers that they remain friends due to her beliefs and notions on friendships turning into romantic relationships. She then sets up Richard with Lovi Poe and the two hit it off. Will Solenn regret her match-making in the end?

The trilogy also includes “Gunaw”, an apocalyptic tale with ace comedienne Eugene Domingo. Uge convinces Richard that they have a mission to procreate because they are the only humans left after a worldwide disaster. Will Richard give in to Uge for the sake of humankind?

“My Valentine Girls” is set to open in theaters on February 9, 2011.
