Kim Chiu to Star with Vilma Santos in the Horror Movie ‘The Healing’

Kim Chiu is set to work with the Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos in the upcoming Star Cinema horror movie “The Healing.”

“The Healing” is the working title of Gov. Vilma Santos and Kim Chiu starrer to be helmed by Chito Roño. It’s a horror film about Filipinos strong belief in the power of alternative medicine like albularyos (Village Healer), Shamans, and mambabarang (witches).

In an interview by Showbiz News Ngayon, Vilma Santos whose last movie was “In My Life” in 2009 said she accepted the role for “The Healing” because she finds the concept fresh and something that she hasn’t done before.

“I find this something new, unang una sa story. First time akong gagawa nito plus the fact na I will be doing a movie with Kim Chiu. Definitely that is something very important. At this point in time, what is important is chemistry plus a good project, a good director,” she said.

Kim Chiu, on the other hand, is excited to star with the iconic actress.

“Masaya ako and excited ako. Something new din for me to do a horror movie under Star Cinema and to work with Governor Vilma Santos,” she told SNN.

“The Healing” is scheduled to be released on the first quarter of 2012 by Star Cinema.

According to reports, the film was supposed to be a Vilma Santos and Sharon Cuneta starrer but the Megastar was later replaced by Kim Chiu that’s why a little adjustment has been made in the story of the film.

Sharon had to decline the role because her schedule will not meet the timetable for the filming of “The Healing.” She has a daily show “The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Edition” and she’s also about to film her grand reunion movie with Gabby Concepcion and probably with their daughter KC Concepcion also.

Giant Crocodile – Photo and Video of 21-Foot Crocodile Captured Alive in Agusan del Sur

A giant crocodile that measures around 21 foot or 6.4 meters was captured along a creek by crocodile farm staff and residents in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur province in the Philippines on Saturday, September 2.

According to the town Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde, the giant crocodile weighing about 2,370 pounds or 1,075 kilograms, it took almost 100 people to pull the giant crocodile off the creek. A crane was even used to lift the reptile into a truck and place it inside a fenced cage.

The mayor also said that they are planning to build an eco-tourism park for species found in a vast marshland in Agusan (an impoverished region about 515 miles southeast of Manila) showcasing the giant crocodile.

The giant crocodile was first seen by local farm villagers killing a water buffalo (carabao) last month and was also suspected of having attacked a fisherman who went missing in July. The reptile was being hunted by Philippine crocodile farm staff in the last three weeks.

After they spotted the giant reptile, villagers and the crocodile farm staff set four traps, which the giant crocodile destroyed. They then used sturdier traps using steel cables, one of which finally caught the giant crocodile late Saturday.
